- SANTA FE -
MIXED-USE TOWNHOUSE PROJECT
LOT 13 NORTH STREET
With a limited footprint, the Santa Fe mixed-use townhouse maximizes space and allows natural systems to heat and cool the structure. The first floor of the townhouse consists of a catering kitchen, and the upper levels are used as a condominium.
The structure’s tiered southern edge optimixes daylighting techiques. Roof overhangs block direct sunlight in summer but accept sunlight in winter. The stair tower serves to ventilate the condo’s interior. Additionally, windows on both the north and south sides permit natural breezes to cool the space when needed.
Two large balconies on the north side overlook street activity and provide outdoor seating space. The building’s main roof serves as an outdoor deck for residents, complete with an overhead pergola to diffuse light and help define the space.
